"You should probably come with us, I have a feeling we'll need all the help we can get subduing the enemy. Plus, if we are successful we won't need a shuttle, we could just pilot the Mercury ourselves," Rai told the Orion helmsman as he stepped onto the shuttle, ducking so his long ass limbs could fit into one of the passenger's seats. He really was tall, almost too tall.

Mishkanaa nodded as she took her own place at the helm of the ship, looking over the controls and making a few notes, mouthing some of the tips and tricks that she had been told by her instructors. "I'll come with you all then! Hopefully I won't slow anyone down!" She laughed nervously before she turned back to what she was doing, starting preliminary checks and going through procedures that needed to be done before starting up a shuttlecraft.

"Don't worry about that, Ensign. You are a valuable member of the crew and I am sure you will do great. We just need to disable the enemy and regain control of the ship. I am thinking we could try and disable their power first, we could do that via the computer core, but to stay undetected we should probably use the jefferies tubes," Rai began to formulate a plan in his mind. This was his element! He was unusually calm through all of this, but it wasn't new to him. He had taken back many ships in his past, well... He had 'stolen' many ships, but that was besides the point. The Romulan officer took a deep breath, hands on his knees and eyes forward. "Once we cut power, we need to head to the bridge, perhaps we could split into two groups?"

Ensign Mishkanaa Y’Arri | CMD BOT 05-Dec-22 04:06 AM
"Yes, that would be good, though with one group going to the bridge, what should the second group do?" Mishkanaa was trying to put together all of the pieces and make them all make sense, biting her lip worriedly. She kept calm though, since she knew that if she broke her calm things might crumble.

"After we secure engineering, I'll be on the group securing the bridge. It's likely to be where the thieves have the strongest defenses. I've brought some stun grenades with me to even the odds." T'kara vaguely gestured to the pouch on her belt as she resolved to not even touch the weapons console. Unless something went terribly wrong, they wouldn't need the shuttle's phasers anyway.

“I will secure the bridge with you.” Lisa was well versed in the art of punching people. She had great form and was generally quite strong.

"That is a good idea. I was thinking Lieutenant Lisa could lead the group to the bridge and I would lead others through the tubes to get to engineering so we can cut the power. I have no doubts the enemy will detect us so the bridge team will need support from whatever we can hijack in engineering," Rai was a bit nervous about all of this, but it didn't show in his tone. He sounded confident and sure, a natural born leader, Rai bread!

Ensign Mishkanaa Y’Arri | CMD BOT 05-Dec-22 04:13 AM
"Ok, that all makes sense, where should I go? I know how things on the bridge work, and know a little bit about Engineering so I might also be able to help there." Mishkanaa added, starting to feel a little more confident with this whole endeavor the more she thought about it.

"You are free to go with the bridge crew, I tihnk they're more likely to have casualties but seeing as I have... No engineering background, assistance with me would be welcome," Rai was starting to regret choosing to go to engineering as he had no engineering knowledge. However he knew the layout of the Mercury after studying the schematics so at the very least he could lead them safetly.

“I’ll go where the most casualties are.” She held out a small kit containing a medical tricorder, disinfectant, and a dermal regenerator.

The tiny Andorian wandered into the shuttle, usual scowl at a level 10, his tricorder in hand, and gave the shuttle's occupants an appraisal, before looking up at Rai and giving him a perfunctory nod.

Mishkanaa nodded again, preparing herself for a fight. She hoped she would be good enough in one of those, she always felt lacking when it came to her fighting skills.

Lt. Cdr. Cory Wilkinson | ENG BOT 05-Dec-22 04:25 AM
Cory walked into the shuttle, looking around the room at all the people he had actually not met yet, but no better a time to meet people than a situation like this, right? Right.

"Jolan tru," Rai waved to the newcomer, not sure who he was but he was wearing gold and that's what they wanted! "Alright so we have Lisa leading the bridge team with Ressa, T'Kara, and Y'Arri. Then with me-- Ensign Ch'aranor and- sorry I do not know your name," Rai turned to the Cardassian-Gorn. He recognised that face from somewhere, but he couldn't exactly pinpoint where. "I assume you will be one of the engineers helping?"
Avatar
Lt. Cdr. Cory Wilkinson | ENG BOT 05-Dec-22 04:30 AM
"Yes, sorry- Cory Wilkinson," he said, waving back to Rai, who he wanted oh so badly to make a joke about rhyming with the bread that he loved to bake sometimes, but now was absolutely not the time, he presumed. "Engineer, yes." Very eloquent and descriptive.

"Hi Cory," Rai said in the most un-Romulan tone. He sounded friendly and cheerful! His expression quickly turned back to 'serious business mode' when he opened his mouth to speak again. "My team will need to get to the jefferies tubes so we can sneak into engineering. The Bridge team can use the corridors, but watch out for forcefields. We'll head to the ship's engineering room and see if we can hijack the systems. It's a Starfleet ship so I will be relying on you guys who know the LCARS better than me," Rai looked towards his team, wishing he was more engineering-minded. "I can sneak us through the tubes, that is... A bit of a specialty amongst Romulans. Not that I am proud of it, but trust me, you are in good hands."

"Sneaking through the jefferies tubes? Reminds me of the good ol' days," Cory said, with absolutely no further comment as to what he meant by the good ol' days or why he'd enjoy sneaking through jefferies tubes so much, especially when he was such a big guy. Didn't matter. Hijacking systems was... less of a specialty for him, after all, he wasn't that maniac kid who had hacked Starfleet nearly a decade ago. Hopefully they were doing well now. "If it's just a normal Starfleet ship, shouldn't be too much trouble getting into the system," he confirmed, smiling when the other said he was good at sneaking through the tubes. "That's good to know!" Because it was!

"If only that bastard Tal Shiar captain could see me now, using my skills for good. Anyway," Rai said with a lighthearted chuckle as if he wasn't just talking about literally being in the Tal Shiar. He was happy that he had competent engineers to help him, Cory seemed so nice too! Friendly and nice, not a guy who would stab him during an away mission which was a real concern! It had happened before on Romulan ships.

"The bridge team should probably use the tubes as well. We're less likely to encounter enemies there, though we'll have less opportunity to neutralize any that would wind up behind us." T'kara checked her phaser again, getting antsy from knowing there's gonna be a fight and not being in it yet. The logical bones in her body were running through all the solutions to potential obstacles, while the emotional ones were trying to smooth over her demeanor with confident vibes.

"Sounds good," Rai said in agreement to T'Kara. He then leaned forward towards Mishkanaa so he could speak to her. "We're ready to go Ensign, whenever you're ready!"

Ensign Mishkanaa Y’Arri | CMD BOT 05-Dec-22 05:08 AM
Mishkanaa nodded, finishing her preliminary checks and finally getting ready to be underway. It was time to get going after all, and she was not about to keep them waiting any longer. It seemed like her worries were going away as the familiarity of her position dawned on her. She had experience. She had done the simulations, and she knew what she was doing. "Let's get this show on the road"

Stone-faced, he hopped up onto a seat near Rai, not close enough to touch, but wanting to be near his friend, for a modicum of comfort being that, not that he'd ever admit it, he was slightly nervous, having never been on an away mission before. Checking over his tricorder incessantly, he made it a point not to look out the window, always getting slightly motion sick when he wasn't piloting.

Erei'Riov Rai tr'Torre'vnau | TAC BOT 05-Dec-22 05:13 AM
Conversely, Rai was not nervous at all. They were not boarding a Tal Shiar vessel and he was confident no member of the away team was going to stab him. Honestly this felt like a normal field trip to him.

Lt. JG. T'kara Baines | TAC BOT 05-Dec-22 05:17 AM
T'kara had a mild amount of nervousness. Leaving the ship was when the most interesting things happened, for better or worse. She could handle herself in a fight against people, but if they turned the ship itself on them, she was not nearly as good with non-weapon tech as she was with humanoids.

[D] Vrirrahk appeared, she took a sip from a hip flask as she folded her sage robes covering her utility belt consisting of her blades sheathed with her pistol equipped on her right leg holster. A sense of adrenaline coursed through her, it reminded her of a good chase though this was no tal shiar she was chasing. On the outside she appeared stoic and held her posture high, though remaining relatively placid she was here to kick ass and take names. She spotted the other Romulan almost instantly who she briefly met in the event hall, giving a nod of courtesy she attended to checking her own weaponry afterall she was designed for these mission's being a convert operations officer and all as she sat in silence.

Rai did not grace Vrirrahk with a wave, but he did give her a polite nod of the head. He was a lot more cautious about being so friendly with his fellow countrymen or really-- other ex-Tal Shiar members. He didn't think the other exchange officer was going to shank him but, ah well the paranoia was always there. "In the event of communications black out, bridge team will try and get to the bridge and make sure to disable anyone we meet along the way and engineering team, our main goal is to get to engineering and crack the systems. I fully expect the enemy to have all the traps and countermeasures in place to stop us so be careful and be... Covert. Like, Romulan level covert, we really need to stay undetected for as long as possible because the minute they know we're on the ship, the harder the whole mission will get from there."

She raised an eyebrow at his words, as if she wasn't both Romulan and a Covert officer already she unsheathed a blade and placed it onto her lap going over the point with the another blade before cleaning both on the fabric of her robe. "Understood." Was a one word answer but this wasn't her first rodeo but nonetheless he was a superior officer of which demanded a verbal response.

Despite the emergency, the shuttle departed and began making its way for the Mercury.

As the shuttle moved rapidly toward the Mercury, on sensors they could see the craft had dropped to impulse and were approaching empty space.

Mishkanaa kept her eyes on the prize, as it were, watching the Mercury in front of her as well as the area around her. She had adjusted the path of the Shuttle Gan De to reflect the trajectory of the space debris around them, which she hoped, would make them even harder to detect -- even if it might not be the most comfortable way to fly. "Sorry about any turbulence!" She called to the crew around her.
